Who Won YaLLa Compass Contenders 01?
The YaLLa Compass champions this time are none other than Astrum. They kicked off the series by defeating the very same team they would later face in the finals - Passion UA. Although they lost to PARIVISION in the group stage, whom they eventually faced again in the semifinals (spoiler alert!), Astrum bounced back strong. After that loss, they won every single game, brushing aside the team that had previously beaten them and ultimately claiming the title to become the first-ever champions of the YaLLa Compass Contenders series!

Spirit Academy vs. Passion UA:
Before qualifying for the semifinals, Spirit Academy, believe it or not, entered the quarterfinals at a disadvantage. They had to play another best-of-three that clashed with their YaLLa Compass Contenders schedule. Even with a forfeit counted against them, they managed to sweep past Monte to earn their spot against Passion UA. This underdog storyline had many thinking another academy team might go all the way, especially with NAVI Junior being the latest champion. Despite the firepower of kyousuke and Mokuj1n, however, Passion UA came out on top, securing their place in the finals with a strong team performance.
or the second time in the series, Astrum faced off against PARIVISION. Having previously lost to them; this rematch was a major hurdle Astrum needed to overcome. The games were incredibly close; but that’s not how it started. PARIVISION surged ahead, reaching 11 rounds and looking ready to take the game away from Astrum. But from a score of 11-5, Astrum pulled off an incredible comeback, winning eight rounds in a row to close out the map 13-11 on Mirage. In the next game, PARIVISION, known for their strength on Ancient, showed they were the better team overall on that map. But when it came to Train, it just might be Astrum’s domain. Though the final map was also tightly contested, Train ended up being the battleground where Astrum secured their place in the finals - and ultimately, won the championship.
On Map 1 – Mirage, the score was tied at 6-6, but once the second half began, Astrum took control, winning seven consecutive rounds -similar to their comeback against PARIVISION, but this time they kept the scoreline far from close. Then came Map 2 – Train, and things got intense. The match was incredibly close, going to three overtimes, with insane clutch plays from both sides, including Passion UA. Both teams were all-in, giving it everything they had and showcasing their absolute best. Funny enough, Clax didn’t hit double digits on the scoreboard until the very end; despite how long the game was. Nonetheless, the YaLLa Compass 2025 Contenders 01 champions are Astrum.
Former Aurora squad Astrum have claimed their first title after defeating Passion UA in the YaLLa Compass Contenders 01 Grand Finals. This victory also pushed their VRS ranking to #44, placing them above Major-participating teams such as Nemiga, Legacy, M80, Fluxo, and Fnatic.
